The Mission of Thriver’s Celebration of Life is to raise funds through various events to be used to directly assist cancer survivors during treatment. The funds are used to provide community support events and financial support as needed during their vulnerable time of cancer treatment. Our mission is to honor cancer survivors with opportunities to celebrate their lives, connect with one another, access vital resources and strengthen a supportive network that empowers them beyond their diagnosis. Our goal is to inspire other communities to develop similar support networks and
systems for the cancer survivor’s community.
About Us
Thriver’s Celebration is a love venture between Bethesda’s Women of Visions and
Legacy Community Group. It began during Covid, when the Co-Founders Deletrise
Curtis, Dianna Jones and Lady Gwendolyn Jones were experiencing the loss of 5 family
members that fought bravely but finally succumbed to impact of cancer. A friend
suggested hosting a banquet to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors. And it turns out;
this banquet was the therapeutic help needed to begin to properly grieve the loss of the
Jones Family members, while celebrating the lives of those who still Thrived.
After the 1 st banquet, the outpouring from the community regarding the success of the
banquet was incredible. It was then we realized the communities need to uplift our
cancer survivors and heal from the loss of our loved ones. This need has been aided
with the annual “Thriver’s Celebration of Life Banquet”!
